Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 25, 2026
LSAT Self Prep ("LSATSelfPrep," "we," "us," or "our") operates LSATSelfPrep.com (the "Site"). This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the Site, you agree to the collection and use of information as described here.
1. Information We Collect
Account information. When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and password (stored in encrypted/hashed form).
Payment information. Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your full credit card number on our servers; Stripe handles and stores that information directly under its own security standards and privacy policy.
Usage and product data. We collect data about how you use the Site — such as questions attempted, answers, progress through Materials, session activity, and login history — through our own systems and through PostHog, a product analytics tool. We use this data to operate the product, track your study progress, and improve the Site.
Device and log data. We automatically collect certain technical information, such as IP address, browser type, device type, and pages visited, typically through our hosting provider (Railway) and analytics tools.
Communications. If you contact us for support, we collect the information you provide in that communication. Transactional emails (such as account confirmations and receipts) are sent through Resend.
LawHub Advantage linkage. Because access to LSAT materials requires an active LSAC LawHub Advantage subscription, we may collect and store information necessary to verify and link your LawHub Advantage account status.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- create and manage your account and provide access to the Materials;
- process payments and send purchase confirmations;
- verify your LawHub Advantage status and gate access to LSAT materials accordingly;
- respond to support requests and communicate with you about your account;
- send you transactional and, where you have opted in, marketing emails;
- monitor, analyze, and improve the Site's performance and content, including through PostHog and (in the future) Google Analytics;
- detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, or violations of our Terms of Service;
- comply with legal obligations.
3. Analytics and Tracking Technologies
We use PostHog for product analytics to understand how users interact with the Site (such as which pages are visited, which features are used, and session behavior). These tools may use cookies or similar technologies to collect this information. We may also use advertising tracking technologies (such as tracking pixels) for marketing purposes.
You can control cookies through your browser settings, though disabling cookies may affect some Site functionality.
4. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with:
- Service providers who process data on our behalf, including Stripe (payments), Resend (email delivery), Railway (hosting), and PostHog (analytics);
- LSAC, to the extent necessary to verify your LawHub Advantage subscription and provide access to licensed LSAT materials;
- Legal authorities, if required to comply with a law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of LSATSelfPrep, our users, or others;
- A successor entity, in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy or its equivalent.
5. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active, or as needed to provide the Site, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You may request deletion of your account and associated data as described in Section 7.
6. Data Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@lsatselfprep.com. We will respond within a reasonable time and may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the link in those emails. You cannot opt out of transactional emails necessary for your account or purchases (such as receipts).
8. Children's Privacy
The Site is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child under 16 has provided us with personal information, contact us at support@lsatselfprep.com and we will take steps to delete it.
9. International Users
We are based in Ontario, Canada, and your information may be processed and stored in Canada or in other countries where our service providers operate, including the United States. By using the Site, you consent to this transfer and processing.
10. Third-Party Links
The Site may contain links to third-party websites or services, including LSAC's LawHub. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third parties; review their privacy policies directly.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time by posting a revised version on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Site after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
